Bystronic Type
Bystronic Type
Compatible with press brakes: Bystronic, Beyeler RFA, RF, R and S. Cnstamp’s Bystronic-type press brake tooling is manufactured to meet the standards used on Bystronic machines and compatible systems. Our tooling series is crafted for consistent bend angles, reliable performance, and extended service life. Bystronic tooling from Cnstamp is suitable for a range of bending tasks in sheet metal fabrication—from common V-bending to applications requiring special die profiles.
Bystronic-type tooling starts with high-quality alloy steel such as 42CrMo, selected for strength and resistance to wear. Through controlled processing and heat treatment, the tooling achieves the hardness and toughness needed for repeated bending operations. The upper and lower tooling surfaces are ground to precise profile.
Cnstamp supplies a broad range of punches and dies for the Bystronic system to support common and special bending needs:
● Standard punches in typical angles such as 26°, 30°, 85° and others, with matching radii and heights specified for different applications.
● Standard dies sized to match V-openings needed for various material thicknesses.
● Special tooling designs based on part geometry when standard profiles do not meet production requirements.
● Each tooling profile is engineered to support stable bending results with minimized error in angle and springback.
Bystronic-type tooling from Cnstamp uses segmented punches and dies, with standard total lengths such as 1000 mm and 550 mm assembled from shorter sections. Typical segment sizes include small increments (10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, etc.) and larger segments (200 mm, 275 mm, 300 mm).
Segmented tooling offers clear practical advantages:
● Flexible length configuration — Operators can compose tooling lengths to match part width without relying on one long bar.
● Easier handling — Individual segments are lighter to install and remove, improving safety and efficiency.
● Consistent accuracy — Proper calibration between segments ensures uniform bending performance along the full tooling length.
To choose tooling that delivers accurate, repeatable results, consider the following practical factors:
1. Material and Thickness
For thicker or harder plates, select a wider V-opening and tooling with a larger angle to accommodate the greater bend force required.
For thinner metal, a narrower V-opening and smaller angle tooling help maintain accuracy and reduce springback.
2. Process Requirements
When tight dimensional tolerances are required, consider tooling with higher hardness or wear-resistant materials such as high-speed steel or carbide.
For parts with complex shapes, use segmented tooling or tooling designs customized to the bending sequence.
Cnstamp not only supplies tooling but also provides technical support for tooling selection and setup. When requesting tooling guidance, it is helpful to provide:
● A drawing showing the final bend shape and tolerance requirements.
● ● Material type and thickness.
Any surface finish requirements.
● Press brake model, tonnage, and table length.
● Any special precision or process constraints.
