Punches
Punches
LVD press brake punch is the upper tooling used in press brake bending operations. It works together with the lower die to apply controlled pressure on sheet metal, forming precise angles and profiles. LVD-type punches are designed to match the clamping system and geometry of LVD press brake machines, ensuring accurate alignment and stable bending performance in industrial sheet metal fabrication.
High-precision press brake punches are critical to bending accuracy, production efficiency, and tooling lifespan. Properly engineered LVD punches maintain consistent geometry and reduce deformation even during long production cycles.
Different punch geometries are used to achieve various bending shapes and material clearances.
Standard Punch
A universal upper tool used for most 90-degree bending operations. It provides strong support and stable forming for general sheet metal fabrication.
Acute Angle Punch
Designed with angles smaller than 90° (such as 30° or 45°), this punch is used for sharp bends or air bending applications requiring tighter angles.
Gooseneck Punch
This punch has a curved profile that provides additional clearance when forming deep channels or return bends. It prevents interference between the tool and previously bent flanges.
Narrow or Sword Punch
A slender tool used for bending parts with limited space or narrow flange designs.
Custom Profile Punch
Special punches can be manufactured based on part drawings to form complex profiles such as U-channels, box structures, or multi-stage bends.
Typical parameters for LVD-type press brake punches include:
Material: 42CrMo / alloy tool steel
Body hardness: HRC45–50
Working tip hardness: HRC55–60 (optional hardened tip)
Standard segment length: 508 mm / 510 mm / 550 mm
Standard angles: 26°, 78°, 88°, 90° (custom angles available)
Working height options: 159 mm – 214 mm
These specifications allow compatibility with various LVD press brake systems and bending requirements.
